Kimbolton Castle through the ages
Kimbolton Castle has a rich and fascinating history. Dating back to a wooden motte and Bailey castle in Norman times, the present castle is an early 18th century masterpiece by Vanbrugh and Hawksmoor, featuring impressive artwork from Pellegrini and Lely.
The family seat of the Dukes of Manchester from 1615 to 1950, it is famous as the final home of Queen Katharine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII.
